Moreover, with a decent pair of binoculars, we’ll get the chance to spot the M44 star cluster, also known as the ‘Crib’.
According to UAI, on the night of June 22, the crescent moon will be positioned within the Leo constellation, where Mars can also be observed. Further down, within the Cancer constellation, Venus will be visible. Additionally, with the use of binoculars or even a small telescope, sighting the Nativity Star Cluster will be achievable (map indicates the sky view on June 22, 2023, around 10 p.m.).
Throughout this month, several opportunities have arisen to gaze at M44, an open star cluster located within the Cancer constellation. As one of the nearest to our solar system, it boasts a rich array of stars in comparison to neighboring clusters. However, witnessing it adjacent to a celestial triangle makes it even more striking.
